I’ve heard the saying ‘Fake it till you make it’ and I sure have tried that. It worked for a little while but that voice in my head kept saying ‘What are you doing? You aren’t good enough for [blank]!’. So then I would slump down and carry on with life.
I’ve got an entire bookshelf of books with various self-help titles ‘7 Habits of Highly Successful People’, ‘How to heal your life’ and so many more. Sure they also worked for a while but the habits never stuck and I couldn’t work out exactly how to heal my life.
I noticed my weight seemed to have a direct correlation with how successful my life was. When my weight was up my life was down and vice versa. Low weight equalled great life. I was never one of those shallow people who only worried about weight. How could I have such an obssessive relationship with my weight? How could I let that really affect how my life was going?
Well I’m going to share a secret. A secret that I literally learnt this morning and have been so excited to share with you!
I really am going to share how to gain Amazing Confidence in 15 minutes. Not just ordinary confidence but truly AMAZING confidence.
Now most of you know that I am breastfeeding. As those who have breastfed before me might know that you are up at crazy hours day and night and it can get a little boring. I don’t know what my mum did without Facebook? How would you breastfeed without Facebook? It is the thing I turn to in those dark early hours to keep me entertained and stop me from falling asleep on top of my baby.
So, I’m on Facebook at around 2am this morning and just checking out what people are writing. I come across this amazing article about jobs and stuff (I’ll get into that in another post). I then slide down the rabbit hole of links and what do you know, I end up on this incredible site with this amazing magician! Well I think he is a magician because he literally had me rethinking my whole life in 15 minutes!! 15 minutes! He made me realise what the whole deal is about the link between my weight and the success of my life. He made me realise that I can do absolutely anything with my life and that I can have AMAZING CONFIDENCE.
He has these videos about how you can change your deep-seated beliefs about your life. There are a couple of options he gives you ‘I am not good enough’ or ‘Failure & Mistakes are bad’. I did the ‘I am not good enough’ one as that has been a huge block in my life. He has this little video and you answer all these questions he asks you out loud. It made me join the dots and work out that when I was younger there was a family member in my life who would only really acknowledge me if I had lost weight. If I had gained weight they would make side comments about it and I felt they didn’t want to talk to me if I was too big. This was such an AHA moment. I did the whole video and at the end I was completely amazed at how this had impacted my entire life!
