You have probably heard about how meditation is amazing and that you should do it. You may even be like me and have a gorgeous little app on your phone that has guided meditations so you really don’t even have to do any work to have one ready. You may also have a scheduled alarm that tells you it is time to meditate. Or is that just me?
I know meditation is great. I have done it. I have seen the results. I just always seem to have something better to do. That was until I found the right meditation! I’m not able to just sit there and meditate just yet as my own thoughts get in the way and I get totally bored. I definitely need to have a guided meditation. This amazing lady who I have started working with sent me a guided meditation that is so fantastic that I really look forward to my meditation sessions and have actually managed to fit a session in at least once a day!
Some of the benefits I have found from my meditation include:
Complete relaxation. It didn’t matter what kind of morning I have had, if I do my meditation once the boys are down for their afternoon naps I find myself completely relaxed. Incredible really.
More motivation. I am constantly working on ways to improve my site and help more people but sometimes I lose motivation. With my new meditation it really helps me focus on what I really want out of life and by the time I finish I just want to jump up and get working.
Better able to deal with all situations. Being a mum/teacher/person can have some major challenges throughout the day. I find that if I keep my meditations regular I am better able to deal with these situations and I find I do get a better outcome, stay more relaxed and focused.
If you haven’t already done so, you can check out my book ‘Daydream Your way to the Life You Want’. In there I discuss in depth the importance of meditation and some simple strategies to incorporate it into you life.
There are heaps of guided meditations out there so I suggest you check some out. Unfortunately I can’t give you my amazing meditation but you can check out www.happymindformula.com for other awesome resources or talk to Tracey to see how she can help you.
All you need to do is find a quiet space and either sit or lay down. Try and reduce as many distractions as possible. You only need a few minutes or you might enjoy it so much and do 20 minutes. It really doesn’t matter but try and do it daily.
Here is the app I was telling you about ‘Smiling Mind’. You can find it in the App Store.
