Q How do I know it’s any good?
A I want you to be completely without risk, so here’s my guarantee… Once you have made your purchase I want you to go through it and check out everything you have just bought. If you don’t absolutely love it you just have to email me within 14 days of purchase and tell me why you don’t love Tiny Chefs. Please allow me 3 days to respond and I will provide you with a FULL refund. I will refund your money how ever you paid for your products (either paypal or through bank transfer). I want you to be happy with your purchase and know that you can purchase anything from Tiny Chefs without any risk.
Q How is it different to buying a program in a book?
A The Tiny Chefs programs are in a digital format. This means that you don’t receive a printed version but you are able to download the document as soon as you purchase it! You also get access to all of the resources that go with the program/s you have purchased. You simply download those as well, print them out and you are ready to go.
Q How is it different to what’s already out there?
A Tiny Chefs is a unique and engaging Gardening & Cooking program for the Early Years classroom. The structure of the program is based around the 4 stages of; foundation, explore, expand and experiment. You can purchase the programs, professional development and happy teachers guide separately or you can purchase them all together as part of the Tiny Chefs Academy. Each of the lessons are designed specifically for the active young hands and minds of the 3-5 year old.
You get the full program and all resources with the Cooking & Gardening programs. You can also purchase the professional development series which helps train you in different cooking and gardening elements. These professional development sessions contribute to your required hours and are conducted online. This means you can do the sessions anywhere you want and can also access them at a later date. Once you answer the assessment question you will receive a participation certificate to add to your portfolio.
Q What is the difference between Tiny Chefs Academy and the Tiny Chefs programs?
A This can seem a little complicated but I will explain it as simple as possible. The Tiny Chefs Academy is a membership website that you sign up to through paying an annual fee. As a member of the Tiny Chefs Academy you will have access to everything I have to offer which includes:
Tiny Chefs Cooking Program and resources
Tiny Chefs Gardening Program and resources
Professional Development Series
Happy Teachers Guide
As you can see from the list there are 2 Tiny Chefs Programs; the cooking program and the gardening program. This is the difference between the programs and the Academy. You are able to purchase each of the elements listed above separately if you only want a particular element.
Q Aren’t we meant to be following the childrens interests rather than have a strict program?
A The unique element about the Tiny Chefs programs is that there are 4 lessons per term. This allows you to incorporate the basics of cooking and gardening through the program around spontaneous learning sessions that occur throughout the day. This allows you to continue to nurture the spontaneous learnings that occur in your room whilst providing some guidance and further information.
Each of the lessons are play based and the child is encouraged to think for themselves and bring their own ideas to the table. The whole year program takes them on a beautiful journey that is scaffolded and allows them to develop the skills and confidence they need to take on the amazing adventure of Term 4. I promise you will love it!
Q What kinds of activities are there?
A There are 4 lessons per term for each of the gardening and cooking programs. The cooking activities range from some simple adaptations to classic recipes all the way to omlet creations and designing their own menu. The gardening activities range from designing their own garden to creating a gardening book, learning about the seasons and how to maintain their garden.
Q How is it laid out?
A As I have mentioned before there are 4 lessons per term (4 terms through the year). The 4 stages of the program are; foundation, explore, expand and experiment. The lessons are scaffolded to teach the children the skills and confidence they need to participate in the creative tasks in term 4. To see the physical layout of the programs you can download a sample by signing up to the newsletter on the left hand side of the screen.
Q Is there a printed version?
A No. You don’t receive a printed version of the program. You receive a link which is where you download the program. The program is a PDF which you can simply get printed at a local printing store or print it off yourself.
Q Is this just for one year? Do I have to renew each year?
A There are 2 options. You can purchase the Tiny Chefs programs, Professional Development package or the Happy Teachers guide separately or you can sign up to the Tiny Chefs Academy where you receive all of them together. When you purchase them separately there are no further costs. When you sign up to the Tiny Chefs Academy you can choose to renew each year to continue to have access to the latest programs. A new program is released in November of each year in preparation for the following year.
Q When I click on the purchase buttons it says that the money will be taken out every year! What is that about?
A The answer above clarifies the 2 different ways you can purchase (either the Tiny Chefs Academy or each element separately). When you purchase an individual element (such as just the Tiny Chefs Cooking Program) you are receiving a membership to that particular section of the site. You will receive a unique login for you to sign in to the site to download the resources. If you are purchasing a single element you have lifetime access to just that element and only 1 payment will be taken out. If you are purchasing the Tiny Chefs Academy (all of the amazing resources) then you will need to renew each year and you receive the very latest programs (which are launched every November). If you don’t wish to continue into a second or subsequent year then you can simply email me and I can stop any further payments. You will never pay for something you don’t want.
Q The program seems a little expensive compared to me just doing my own thing. Is it worth it?
A The amount of content and resources you receive for the programs would save you hours of time in research and preparation. At this price you are saving hours and hours of time, stress and tears.
Q What if it’s not what I’m looking for?
A I am so confident that you will love the Tiny Chefs programs that if for any reason you are not happy, I will give you a full refund. I will give you 14 days to check out the program/s and if you find that they are just not of the highest quality that you expected you just have to email me and I will give you a full refund. Simple.
