These healthy apple and cinnamon scrolls are absolutely delicious!
They are super simple to make and you can totally adapt them to make savoury scrolls using some fresh herbs from you own herb garden.
1 cup of Self Raising Flour (for gluten free – use gluten free self raising flour)
4 large tablespoons of natural greek yoghurt
1 apple diced very small
1 tsp rapadura sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp melted butter
1. In a large bowl mix the flour and yoghurt until you have a dough. Simple! If it is a little sticky add a little more flour.
2. In a small bowl mix the butter, sugar and cinnamon together.
3. Roll out your dough in a long strip. Paint the butter mixture over the dough. Add the apple along the middle of the dough. Roll the dough into a scroll (length ways). Cut up the long scroll into 3cm mini scrolls. Place them onto a tray lined with baking paper and paint a little more butter mixture over the outside of it.
4. Cook at 180 degrees for approximately 10-15 minutes until golden.
Instead of the butter mixture with apple you could use butter with garlic, salt and fresh herbs.
You could also just top some plain scrolls with ham and cheese.
You could make pizza scrolls with tomato paste, capsicum, ham and herbs.
