This last week has been an amazing week for me. I had started to feel quite down recently due to some issues that I felt was out of my control. I just wanted to stick my head in the sand or stay curled up in bed. What motivated me to search for some answers was my gorgeous boys. I had depression after Luca was born and I knew I did not want to go back down that path!
I have had a book sitting on my shelf for ages. Over the last few years we have decluttered, moved and thrown out a lot of stuff but this little book has managed to keep its position on my shelf and I have never read it. For some reason I just didn’t want to throw it away.
The book is called ‘You can heal your life’ by Louise Hay. My sister actually mentioned that my mum had a copy of this book which I didn’t realise. Anyway, I picked up this book and flicked through it after reading about it another blog I follow. It floored me. The message was simple.
Life is simple. What we give out, we get back.
I had never looked at it this way. I read more and learnt about how our own thoughts create different ailments in our life either physically, financially, emotionally etc. She explained that there is something very simple you can tell yourself every day. Just look into the mirror and say ‘I love you [name]’. This is what I do everyday. ‘I love you Nicky, you sexy lady!’. It has made a massive difference. I have also started looking at how I can help people more rather than what I can get out of life.
Things have changed dramatically for me. My husband got a job, my site was mentioned on 2 internationally platforms, I found $2, I received a $10 voucher to my favourite store and the list goes on. So much has happened and the most important thing is that I now just lift my problems up and know that they will be sorted out in the best way possible. Sometimes things don’t happen how we want but we can control how we deal with the situation.
I will continue to touch on this topic as I think it is so important. I also recommend you check out her book. She also has a childrens book called ‘I Think I Am’ which is all about teaching children about affirmations. I have just ordered a copy so will keep you updated once I receive it.
Now, I am feeling in a giving mood. If you would like access to The Academy or a copy of any of my resources please just send me an email and I will hook you up. I’ll do this for a couple of weeks.
If you need any help with anything just let me know. Also, if you have read some of Louise Hay’s books what are your thoughts?
