Last night I had the privilege of going to see Dr Peter Dingle speak about his controversial view on health and the medical industry. He is crazy enough to speak about the fact that our own bodies are able to heal themselves if we provide them with a number of key things; a good diet, the right environment, a good attitude and a healthy lifestyle. Can you believe someone would say such crazy things! He is speaking out against the giant pharmaceutical industry and the claims they are making that we all NEED their latest drug. The craziest thing he said last night was that busy-ness is killing us all slowly. The funny thing is that all he of what he said was TRUE!
What he meant by this is that we are all so busy that it has actually become a competition. I’m sure you have had this conversation;
“What have you been up to?”
“I’ve been flat out”
“Me too, I’ve been so busy I haven’t had enough time to (fill in the blank)”
“Well I’ve been so busy that I haven’t (fill in the blank)”
We are all too busy these days to eat well, exercise, relax and spend enough time with family and friends. These are the things that we need in our life to keep us going, to feel happy and alive. What most people are doing instead is going to the doctor and getting a tablet or scheduling an operation to ‘fix’ their issues. What they don’t realise is that the underlying problem will still be there when the prescription runs out!
Don’t let busy-ness get you. It’s rife in our society and extremely contagious!
