Last week was a crazy week for us. My youngest bub was in hospital over the weekend with a virus which was horrible. I was admitted to hospital for exhaustion. Then my other son got heat stroke. What a weekend!
The thing that got me through the whole situation was by reminding myself to breathe and that this moment will pass. The moments in life, good or bad, will always pass. We are now all home, happy and healthy and more grateful for our health than ever before.
I wanted to share this with you because as teachers we often put every one else’s needs before our own. We take work home so that we can give the children the best. We do extra work for parents or colleagues to help them. We then try and find the time to take care of ourselves but there is no time left. I’m not suggesting you join a gym or do a 2 week detox. What I’m suggesting is something so simple and only takes a few moments each day. Breathe. Just take some deep breathes to help you relax and be grateful for what you have in your life. If you then start to realise that things are not how you want them to be (too much work, too much stress, not enough play time) then you will be in a better state of mind to make changes to improve things.
That’s all for this week. I would love to hear how you get through stressful times, particularly at the end of the year!
