The schedule for the first half of 2014 is here
11th – How does your garden grow?
This session discusses how to get started and make use of what you already have. The second half of the session helps you revive your existing but neglected garden.
11th – Gaining confidence in the kitchen
This session answers all of your questions about equipment, group sizes, health and safety for your cooking program. I also give you my simple technique so that you don’t have to spend too much on buying equipment for your cooking lessons.
15th – Getting parents involved
This session shows you how to get parents involved, what might be stopping them and a simple strategy to organise involvement.
13th – Scaffold learning in your lessons
This session shows you how to simple scaffold your lessons so that children who may be struggling will still enjoy the lesson whilst keeping your green thumb chefs engaged.
10th – Dealing with intolerances, allergies and dislikes
This session shows how to adapt your lessons for those who can’t or wont eat particular things in your cooking lessons. This is not from a nutritional aspect but from an educational and health & safety perspective.
The Professional Development Series can be done without following the Tiny Chefs Cooking or Gardening Programs. If you have your own programs going this series can provide you with support and some fantastic ideas to keep you going. Every month there is a new topic released which you can view at any time you like. Each video is packed full of juicy information so I provide you with some great resources:
- A handout with all of the slides
- A summary of the session
- An assessment question that you can answer to qualify for your participation certificate
- Continued conversation in the Exclusive Tiny Chefs Academy Facebook group
